Several months prior to a “Klassik for Kids” concert,
Monique Mead leads a day long training seminar in which school
teachers receive hands-on experience with projects that help prepare
their students for the concert.
These projects promote creativity
in “inventing” music related to the concert repertoire.
Other preparatory activities are incorporated into subjects such
as language, social studies, art, or math.
Teachers leave the seminar
feeling empowered through new ideas and motivated to implement
them, knowing that in a few weeks, an orchestra musician will
be visiting their class. |
